Students Life

Socialising between lectures and at the end of a long day is as much a part of the university life as studying. Clubs and societies are a great way for students to meet friends who share their interests or their enthusiasm for a particular subject or activity.
TSU is the place where young talented and active students can explore and realise their potential by participating in extracurricular activities: 25 creative workshops, interest clubs, student societies, 15 sports clubs, as well as various festivals, corporate events, art competitions, volunteering programmes, social events, and sport competitions.
Over its history, Togliatti State University has established many traditions: an alumni festival “Students’ Autumn”, a beauty contest “Miss University”, singing competitions and festivals “Singing University”, “TSU Student Spring”, a sports competition “Aerobics Show”, volleyball festival, and others. One of the most popular and massive events is the procession of the university graduates along the central city street after the diploma award ceremony. The Russian Student Day is celebrated annually on 25 January, when all students and professors drink mead together and burn the effigy of all the passed exams.
The University Centre of Physical Education and Sport offers training programmes in basketball, football, swimming, volleyball, aerobics, and athletic gymnastics. Several gyms, football fields, outdoor tracks, basketball and volleyball courts, well equipped sports centres and a swimming pool are available to students for both training and leisure.
The local landscape has unrivalled facilities and perfect close-at-hand locations for many outdoor sports, such as sailing, canoeing, rowing, hiking, skiing, and mountaineering. The University offers free access to a wide range of excellent indoor and outdoor facilities in order to support personal development and enhance the wellbeing of students and staff.
