Togliatti State University is one of the largest universities of Povolzhie and a key higher education institution of Togliatti.
TSU is a modern university providing highly qualified professionals for leading Russian and international companies, research and development complexes, automotive industries, chemical and energy plants, etc.
Presently, more than 12,000 students study in 10 institutes, including 93 international students from 10 countries of the world. More than 100 professors and doctors of sciences together with 450 associate professors and candidates ensure high-quality of education for more than 100 educational programs. The University also offers 42 post-graduate programs which allow to obtain a candidate and doctor degree in physical and mathematical sciences, engineering sciences, and pedagogical sciences. Key institutes provide for their students extensive English language courses (5 hours per week/4 years). All education courses and programs are developed according to the requirements of international professional standards which gives TSU students multiple opportunities on the modern employment market.

TSU won the Russian Government Award for Quality (2009) and a special prize - “Recognition of Business Perfection” of the CIS Award for delivering quality products and services. In 2013 Togliatti State University successfully passed the State Accreditation and confirmed its status as a university for the next 6 years.
Research and development, as well as innovations are one of the TSU keystone interests. The University received three mega-grants from the Russian Government for realization of the projects created and developed within the frames of Regulations No 219 and No220 dated 9 April, 2010.The University also houses 26 small innovative enterprises and Research and Development Institute of Progressive Technologies.
TSU provides different clubs and societies for its students - dance, vocal, music, theater, sport clubs and sections. Young people studying at Togliatti State University also organize and take part in various university and city festivals, concerts, exhibitions, theatrical shows, social actions and other events.

Socializing in between lectures and at the end of a long day is as much a party of university life as studying. Clubs and societies are a great way for students to meet other students who share their interest or enthusiasm for a particular subject or activity.
TSU is the place where young talented and active students can explore and realize their potential by participating in extracurricular activities: 25 creative workshops, interest clubs, student societies, 15 sports clubs, as well as various festivals, corporate events, creative competitions, volunteering and social events, and sport competitions. The Sharonov’s Jewelry Design School and “Formula Student TSU” projects are known worldwide.
Over its 64-year history Togliatti State University has established many traditions: alumni festival “Student Autumn”, beauty contest “Miss University”, singing competition and festivals “Singing University”, “TSU Student Spring”, sports competition “Aerobic Show”, volleyball festival and others. One of the most festive events is the procession of the university graduates along the city main streets after the diploma awards ceremony. The Russian Student Day is celebrated on January 25 every year, when all students and professors drink mead and burn the symbol of all the passed exams.
The University Center of Physical Education and Sport offers training programs in basketball, football, swimming, volleyball, aerobics, and athletic gymnastics. Numerous gyms, football fields, outdoor tracks, courts for basketball and volleyball, well equipped sports centers and a swimming pool are available for both training and leisure.
The local area has unrivalled facilities and perfect close-at-hand locations for many outdoor sports, such as sailing, canoeing, hiking, skiing, and mountaineering. The University offers free access to a wide range of excellent indoor and outdoor facilities on order to support personal development and enhance the well-being of students and staff.
