The Institute of Chemistry and Engineering Ecology history dates back to 1963, when Chemical Technological Faculty was established in Togliatti Branch of Samara Polytechnic Institute. The Faculty has been a part of Togliatti State University since 2002, has thirty-seven professors and more than 400 full time and part time students. A.N. Kulkov, DPhil, a well-known expert in rocket fuel and U.B. Belov, DPhil, Professor of the University of Chicago are among its alumni.
The Institute of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering is one of the dynamic parts of the University with strong international links. It provides training in Chemistry, Food Technologies, Chemical and Environmental Engineering. A diverse spectrum of research activity, combined with a variety of challenging graduate subjects and an extensive seminar program, provide our graduate students with the foundation needed for a meaningful professional career. The Institute enables its graduates adapt both to the changing demands of his or her profession and to the career opportunities encountered.

There are 4 departments within the Institute’s structure

  •  Department of Chemistry
  •  Department of Mechanics and Engineering Protection of Environment
  •  Department of Food Processing and Commodity Research
  •  Department of Chemical Industry Devices and Machines

The Institute’s Laboratory “Vibroacoustics, Ecology and Life Protection” is recognized by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as a leading R&D laboratory in the region. In March 2008 scientific school on Engineering Ecology, Ecological Monitoring and Complex Problems of Theoretical Engineering was awarded the status of the Leading Scientific School of Russia. A significant part of research activity carried out by the Institute is financed by the Federal Government.
