The Institute of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest University’s units. It occupies the leading position within the region’s institutes in the context of personnel, material and technical facilities and laboratory equipment.
Its history dates back to1959, when Industrial and Civil Engineering Departmentwas founded. Later Architectural and Civil Engineering Faculty was established. In 2002 it was renamed and is today called the Institute of Civil Engineering. Currently, the Institute has five departments: Industrial and Civil Engineering, Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation, Water Supply and Draining, Urban Planning and Construction, and Design. The Institute is headed by Valery Eryshev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Full Professor. There are 29 PhD among its faculty members.

The Institute has a number of partners among the city’s construction and utilities supply organizations and industrial units, which offer our students the opportunity to gain real-life experience through community building, and design/build projects where students are challenged to apply learned skills in a real world setting as they build permanent structures.
