Automotive and Mechanical Institute teaches the science and art of applying scientific and mathematical principles to design things that benefit society.
Department profile
Automotive and Mechanical Institute (AMI) pursues top teaching and research in the fields of the engineering, technical and natural sciences. It offers training in such engineering fields as motor vehicles technical maintenance and components building, motor vehicles and tractors, machine building technologies, internal-combustion engines, technosphere safety, mechanical engineering.
Awareness of the needs of society as well as local and national economy has become an integral part of providing high-quality education. Ultimately, the quality of the education at AMI is ensured by its emphasis on applied research and competence-based approach in delivering academic programs.
Two educational programs of AMI are accredited by the Russian Association for Engineering Education, the member of ENAEE. The EUR-ACE quality label confirms the engineering programs compliance with international standards.
History
The history of Automotive and Mechanical Institute dates back to 1967, when the first Motor Vehicle Construction Department was established in Togliatti. Automotive and Mechanical Institute, founded in 2002, follows the best traditions of its predecessor in engineering education. Alexander Skripachev, Doctor of Technical Science, has been the head of the Institute since 2006.
Our academic staff-members are known as leaders in teaching methodology and research. More than 180 teachers work at the Institute, among them are: 77 Associate Professors, 22 Doctors of Technical Science, 90 Candidates of Science and 28 Full Professors.
Mission
• Expansion of scientific and research activities aimed at meeting the demand of the city’s large industrial units.
• Provision of highly qualified engineers for the city of Togliatti and Samara Region.
• Encouraging young talented people to pursue an engineering career.
